Turn on the Power Hungry Diet
So here I am, back at the daily grind. I was able to get a lot of work done over there, probably a little too much. What ended up happening was I received an education in all of the business processes of Nokia's Warranty System. I was a "Bob" from office space. I went around and asked the workers exactly what they were doing. One of them even asked me if they would still have a job. Like I was an HR guy or something. Really I had to learn their system so I can propose a better one. That's part of the fun part. I am right now involved in the business, even though I am a developer. I am writing an overview of what I learned and a new system proposal. I like it, as long I will get a chance to develop the system I am proposing. We shall see. Over the years it's been hard to figure out which part of Information Technology I like the best. I've been technical leads the past couple of years, but I have only really lead a couple of people. I've also been an Architect the past couple of years, but at the IRS that was all I did. I needed to develop the product as well. I guess I just like having complete control over the design and development of the systems. I am power hungry. That is shocking. Or is it electric? I guess I need more juice to get watt I want. If I could just generate 1.21 gigawatts of power I could be a bolt of lighting. Ok, I am being punny. Have a good one.
