Hi all,
Most of the readers of this blog are Smallville viewers, so I wanna talk
about last night's 100th episode. The show ended with Jonathan Kent going
to that big farm in the sky. After watching it, it occurred to me that
Jonathan had Anakin Skywalker syndrome. Let's compare the two characters.

Jonathan Kent sells his soul to Jorel at the end of season 2, so he can
have the power to bring the newly evil, Clark (poisoned by red kryptonite)
home from Metropolis. In the agreement with Jorel, Jonathan must agree to
"release" Clark to Jorel "when the time comes." Later in the season,
Jonathan has a heart attack because Jorel in angry that Jonathan didn't
keep up his end of the deal. Jonathan survives, but is constantly plagued
by heart problems until last night when he dies. Granted, Clark had a lot
to do with the outcome, but the pattern is set.

Anakin Skywalker sells his soul to the devil (Palpatine) to save the life
of Padme. He betrays the Jedi and everyone else to save her. Of course, in
the end, she dies anyway, and so does he, essentially.

It looks like Brian is going to WF this weekend to see his mom. I have to
work on Saturday, so there's nothing real exciting for me, yet. I'm not
sure what Turk and Benz are doing, so everyone be careful and have a good
one.
