Movie Misconceptions

You know in the movies when someone has to get past any kind of checkpoint in their car, they just drive right through it. The little wooden board that comes down to stop them always breaks and the car just barrels through. That really doesn't happen, at least where I work. They have gigantic metal poles that come down and locks into place. If anyone ever thought of barreling through it their car would be toast. I can picture first the windshield would break then as the metal pole went through the rest of the car all of the metal and seats would get chopped off. It wouldn't be pretty. It makes me think of other movie misconceptions. The obvious ones are what computers can do. I still talk about how on Independence Day they created a virus with a Mac and uploaded into a spaceship. Yeah, like that could ever happen. Then there are the time travel inconsistencies in Back to the Future 2. If Marty went into the future to fix his kids and then comes back a changed person then his kids would have never got into the trouble in the first place. It boggles the mind...

Comments:
Don't you just love movie mistakes? Another one is from Back to the future III. Marty goes back to the old west to get Doc Brown and take him home. As soon as he gets there, indians shoot the car with an arrow, which cuts the fuel line, and all the gas leaks out of the car. That presents the main problem in the movie. Then, they have to get a train to push the car up to 88mph, so they can time travel ahead to 1985. My problem with this is, there were 2 deloreans in the old west. The first one (driven by Doc) was buried in the mine. The second one was discovered by marty and (old) Doc in 1955. They could have gone to the mine, got just enough gas out of Doc's car, and put it into marty's....problem solved. Of coarse, had they done this, the movie would have been dull.
I hope to see everyone tonight.
