Do the Chickens have Large Talons
Well, it's been a while since I wrote. I have been busy as usual. So I
shall start with Thursday. That was MSD's company summer party. We had
it at the local Racetrack. They got us a penthouse suite and gave us
free food and drink and even $10 to gamble with. It is always fun
betting on horses cause you get to root for your numbers. A couple of
times the jockeys fell off of the horses though. One had to be carried
away in an ambulance. It was weird. I played it safe all night and
won, won, lost, won, won, lost, lost. I ended up where I began with the
original $10. So I decided to throw in an extra $20 and bet it all on
one horse at the last race. I do that with everything, always take a
final risk to win big. Just like last year I lost. One of these days
though... Anyway all was fun. This weekend was the big trip to Kansas. I
went with Holly and her Mom. It was an 8 hour trip each way. One thing,
ding, that got on my nerves, ding. You see, ding, Holly's gas gauge,
ding, kept on dinging, ding, incessantly, ding, and randomly, ding. On
Saturday Holly showed me her town of Pittsburg, Kansas. A half an hour
later we took a stroll through the local high school where I noticed
that Holly's name was painted on a brick with her handprint on it. Their
whole class did it. It was kind of interesting seeing things what they
were like 10 years ago. The reunion was at the local American Legion. It
really reminded me of the VFW. It was like someone had plucked the VFW
in Wichita Falls and put it in Pittsburg Kansas. We had their local
specialty - Fried Chicken and Red Spaghetti. I must say I liked the
combination. Then at about 9 we both looked at each and were bored out
of our minds so I said, let's see a movie. We ended up going the local
mall(1/4 the size of Sikes Center) and saw X-Men 3. It was ok. It lacked
any side plots though, which was weird because they had so many
characters. The whole town reminded me of Napoleon Dynamite. I got the
feeling there was a large chicken farm around the bend waiting to be
plucked of eggs. All in all it was a good trip, a little long on the
driving. When I got back I got some bad news. Most of Mr.T's fish
decided to make the long swim in the sky. However, some of them are
still alive, so I am batting 50% as far as a survival rate. They were
all alive when I left. I think though it must've been the large amount
of food I gave em when I left. Apparently fish don't know how to pace
themselves. Live and learn...
Thought of the Day
Napoleon Dynamite: Do the chickens have large talons?
Farmer: Do they have what?
Napoleon Dynamite: Large talons.
Farmer: I don't understand a word you just said.
Are we having guys night this week or is it off again?
Peety.
