Go-Carts and BasketBall

And now for the weekend update. On Friday I took Holly to a restaurant
in downtown Dallas neither of us had ever been to called Palomino's. I
found it online at guidelive and it was recommended. So we went there
and they had a good ambiance. Their chocolate truffle and ice cream
dessert was to die for. Then we navigated our way to SpeedZone - the
local go-cart racetrack. It was fun. I did bump into Holly and made her
spin around, but that's what happens when you live life in the fast lane
;-) We played some video games afterwards and it was fun shooting
aliens. Then on Saturday morning I went to a wedding. The wedding was
10am in Rockwall(an hour away). I couldn't believe I actually got up and
went to it. I didn't know anyone there but I knew Holly. I ended up
catching the garter and noticed it had Texas A&M on it so I quickly
dropped it. You know I got a little embarrassed at catching it. Like
people are thinking,,yeah he's next,,,.Anyways, they had this chocolate
fountain at the reception, that is the best food, chocolate covered
marshmallows. I think my addiction to chocolate is back. I suppose it
never left. Saturday night my brother stopped by and we watched Rambo
First Blood. Then I went and jammed with Wayne at his practice pad.
Sunday I did the usual and ended up the evening watching the Dallas
Mavericks win another title game. Everyone around here has gone
Mavericks crazy. I even saw a guy standing at a stoplight holding up a
sign and screaming "Go Mavs!". I will get a t-shirt when we win that
says Champions, but only if we win. I haven't been this into basketball
since Michael Jordon played. Ah, the good ole days. Anyways, how was
your weekend?

Thought of the Day
"I have to dribble. If I give it to you, you just shoot. You're a
chucker."
"Oh, I'm a chucker."
"That's right, everytime you get the ball you shoot."
"I can't believe you called me a chucker. No way I'm a chucker. I do not
chuck, never chucked, never have chucked, never will chuck, no chuck!"
- Jerry, in "The Boyfriend"

Comments:
Our weekend was OK. On Friday night, we picked up the kido from daycare and decided to go somewhere and eat. We ended up at Burger King, only because they have a big, indoor playground for my daughter to play in. Now, I usually don't like Burger King, but decided to gove it another shot. I ended up getting a Texas Double Whopper (talk about cheating on your diet). It comes with everything on it, so I have to tell them to hold the lettuce. What I didn't know was that jalepanoes come on it too. About midway through the sandwich I noticed a tingle....two bites later I was getting a refil on my drink...YIKES. It was pretty good though. After we got home, and the kido was in bed, the wife watched her CSI dvd's, and I was in my room finishing up "Return to Lonesome Dove." It was pretty good, so when that was finished, I started watching the original "Lonesome Dove." I always get tickled when watching it, because back in the college days, Brian succumed to pressure from myself and Mr. T, and agreed to actually watch it. What I didn't expect him to do is watch the whole thing at once....it's 6.5 hours long. On Saturday, My sister and her family came over and we cooked hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill. Anyone who cooks outside during Texas summers is crazy. I did most the cooking and looked like I ran a marathon after the cooking was done. After everyone went home, I watched most of "Family Guy" vol 3. On Sunday, I was about to crack because I hadn't left the house since the last guys night (except for work). I ended up going to Borders for a little bit. It felt good to get out of the house. Sunday night, I watered the lawn and watched the Mavs.
