Of Knights, Prayer and Mavs
And now for the weekend update. This weekend I took Holly to "Medieval
Times". It was really cool. They gave us barbeque chicken and ribs and
no silverware, just like back the old days. First you go in and they
take your picture and then you get to walk around all of their souvenir
shops. Then if you pay they will knight you and make everyone cheer when
you get knighted. I noticed that even though I had already paid for the
evening they tried to get me to buy more stuff. It kind of reminded me
of Disneyworld. The show was really good. My favorite had to be all of
the sparks that flew from their swords when they would hit. Also the
jousting stuff was pretty cool. I liked how they would fall off of their
horses when they would lose at jousting. A group of guys sitting next to
me heckled one of the nights. Since I was in the red section we were
going for the red knight. The yellow knight was riding his horse near
our section when one of the guys was like," yellow knight you suck" Then
the yellow knight says back to the guy," what'd you say?,,,I thought
so." It was funny cause you'd expect the yellow knight to ignore the
hecklers. The guys also scream to the queen of the land "I love you." I
am like, embarrassed. I hoped she didn't think it was me that said it.
My embarassability was subject to conversation on Sunday night. I have
the habit of getting embarassed anytime anyone says or does anything out
of the ordinary. Growing up, I was embarassed a lot. Anyways, it was a
good show. On Saturday I had an impromptu party. I was watching the Mavs
game and one person calls another and it is like there are 15 people at
my house watching the game. I was glad to see us win. I think the Mavs
will take it all. Afterwards we ended up playing board games and such.
It was kinf of like a surprise party. What was really surprising was
that I was having it and I didn't know about it till it happened ;-) On
Sunday I did the usual and then finished the evening at the "Global Day
of Prayer" at reunion arena. Imagine 50,000 people all praying at the
same time. It was pretty cool. We then all go to McDonalds and I didn't
get home until 10pm. In other news, Tuesday morning the group of
homeless feeders I am with will be heading over to City Hall to discuss
the law I have been fighting. I am willing to speak if need be. I think
we will get this law overturned. It is unconstitional to force a church
to not feed the homeless. There is no way around it. Anyways, everything
is good. But, I heard rumor that the club we are supposed to playing at
on Saturday has shut down. I will give out more info as it comes in...
Thought of the Day
In certain kinds of writing, particularly in art criticism and literary
criticism, it is normal to come across long passages which are almost
completely lacking in meaning.
