V-Day

Valentines Day was good. I gave my Valentine a nice heart necklace with
flowers and a card. I surprised her by showing up at her school with the
items. It was pretty cool. I think I am a romantic. I tell you though,
the night before Valentines day every red-blooded male was out at the
stores by candy and flowers. Later that night I met Holly and we went to
a Valentines dance for a Christian group called Dallas One. They do
mission work in south Dallas. Mr. T can tell you about that. They had a
silent auction and I got some gift certificates to Chilis and Macaroni
Grill and Corner Bakery. They had a caricicature guy there so Holly and
I got our picture drawn. It is pretty cool. I look like Doogie Howser
and Holly looks like Darlene from Roseanne. It felt like a weekend, but
I had to come into work today. Luckily I have a 4 day weekend, so I
should get some rest. How was your Valentines day?

Thought of the Day
"I'm really enjoying this marriage thing. You think about each other,
you care about each other. It's wonderful. Plus, I love saying 'my
wife'. Once I started saying it, I couldn't stop. 'My wife' this, 'My
wife' that. It's an amazing way to begin a sentence."
- Jerry, in "The Wife"

Comments:
The wife and I did our Valentines exchange on Saturday. I was gonna wait till the 14th, but she was over excited and wanted to give me my gifts. She got me the DVD's of Backbeat and The Concert for Bangladesh. These are both Beatles related shows, for those that don't know. I got her an MP3 player that she loves. Since we did all this over the weekend, yesterday was just a normal day. I was happy to give her something she'll actually use, rather than just watch it wilt and die.

The wife and I did our V-Day on the 13th, because my wife had school til 10 pm on V-Day. I got her a card, some flowers, and a Special Edition 4 gig Nano Ipod. What makes it a special edition you ask, it has the Mercedes-Benz logo on the back of it as well as some saying. It also has a message from the president of the company on it as well. Every employee of Mercedes-Benz got one (so not so special, but the public doesn't have access to one). You may consider this a cheap gift, but I was planning on getting her one, but was thinking about the video Ipod. She loved it and started wanting to learn how to download songs. It was pretty funny. The wife made me a V-Day card and got me a pack of Nerds (the small flavored candy for those that don't remember). Happy V-Day!

The D1.3 fundraiser was great. I really think we did well in terms of raising support and educating many people who had not heard of the mission... As far as Vday is concerned, well I really havn't celebrated that in many years. I will just say that there is a young lady out there whom I care deeply for, but the time has not arrived that such feelings can be openly expressed. All in the Lords time and everything to His glory --- please pray for me to have patience and growth in my life so that I would one day be the best man possible, able to fullfill all of her spiritual and emotional needs.
