A Wedding Story Part 3

Ok, back to the story. The actual wedding day was even more frantic. I
suppose waking up at noon contributed to that. However I did read an
article that said you should take some time out to relax on the big
day, so I did. I didn't have much time though cause there were various
tasks that needed to be done like: pack for the honeymoon, bring
luggage and projector to the hotel, check in at the hotel, string
guitar for the reception, get dressed and be at the church by 5. By 4
I was back at the house and was still packing. My stress levels were
high. Luckily Grant, Dillon, Vicky and Benz stopped by to get dressed.
As I was frantic they all pitched in so I could get dressed. All the
time I am thinking "logistics, if this doesn't happen then that won't
happen." Miraculusly I was able to leave by 4:50 and got to the church
just a little late. I realized something as I sat at the church for a
half an hour, 5:00 was too early for a 7:00 wedding. I could have
easily got to the church at 6 and everything would have been fine. I
was frantic over nothing. Oh well, all that was left was the fun stuff
so then I breathed a sigh of relief.
Before the wedding we took a bunch of pictures and then sat around in
the waiting room. The conversation was light at times with all of us
just waiting. I got the feeling we were all a little uncomfortable
wearing tuxes.
The wedding began as planned. Everyone filed in with poise and
everyone looked good. My nephew came down the aisle and had to be
directed where to go. It was cute. Then the song plays and in walks
Holly. The photographer jumped out in front of her and blocked my
view. Once he got out of the way I was like, "oh my goodness!" She was
the most beautiful bride I had ever seen. Her dress was stunning. As
she got closer I noticed all the details, like she was wearing a
necklace and earring I had got her, and her dresses sequins matched
it. I spent the rest of the wedding just staring at her. Her hair was
done up like a queen. Her makeup was put on perfectly. She was
sweating a little. She was gazing at me as well. I didn't remember
what I was supposed to do or say but luckily the minister guided us
along. I thought for months that I would break down when I saw her
and was actually worried about that, but for some reason when the
minister started speaking I was filled with confidence and spoke loud
all of my responses. All I wanted was Holly and my wish was coming
true. So I was happy and proud and it showed in my speaking. At the
candle lighting I remembered to use 2 hands. I didn't remember what to
do afterwards so I used logic, grabbed her by the arm and we went to
the kneeling place for the prayers. After the prayers I forgot again
and even turned around 360 degrees until I saw where I was taking
Holly. We put our hands together and I am told to kiss the bride. We
kiss and then she surprises me and kisses again. The audience chuckled
and we are turned around to the audience. At that moment it felt like
the end of Star Wars. I half expected to hear a wookie growl. "May I
present to you Mr and Mrs Brian Alden Bass" clap clap clap
It was over, and it was perfect.

Stay tuned for part 4...the reception
