Thanksgiving Update

Well, our first thanksgiving was good, and a little bad. The bad part
was that Holly was getting over a kidney infection she had since
Monday. So we didn't do the Turkey Trot - a 30,000 people race in
downtown Dallas. The good part was the food and the football and
Holly's family stopped by to have our delicious 20 pound turkey. We
watched the Cowboys demolish an opponent and had a good time. It was
the first time for me to carve the turkey, but it turned out well. We
ended the evening watching Independance Day. Holly is getting better
and doesn't have a fever and shaking like she did last week. It was
kind of weird having 16 people over. My family has been dwindling
these past 4 years and now that I am married it has grown
tremendously. All in all, it was relaxing and filling - just what a
Thanksgiving should be.

Comments:
Our Thanksgiving went well. We left on Wednesday night and drove to WF to spend the night. On Thursday, we got up and finished the drive to Lubbock. It was a white Thanksgiving. There was several inches of snow on the grass, but the roads were clear. Our Thanksgiving dinner wasn't the traditional garb, but it was OK. On Friday, we shopped around Lubbock and got started on Christmas shopping for the kido. On Friday night, we went to a little movie theater and saw "3:10 to Yuma." It was a western, and was actually pretty good. On Saturday, we drove back to WF. This time I got to have some traditional Thanksgiving leftovers. On Saturday night, we went shopping again. Sunday, we drove home and did the usual getting ready for the week stuff.
I hope everyone had a good holiday ,and that the guys can get together at some point.
