It's that time of year again

Well at 8:08 this morning 33 years ago I was born. My mom tells the
story that I was born asleep and that after I was delivered someone
came into the hospital with a gun and she was told by the nurses to
get under the bed. She also tells the story of how she lost my twin
during her pregnancy. I wonder what shenanigins we would have gotten
into. I was also told that the doctors had to pinch my feet to get me
to wake up. I have never liked mornings as a result. There are many
pictures of me falling asleep in my food. I wonder if it made a good
pillow? That is my next invention- the food pillow. Nah, it would
never work. I would end up eating it before i fell asleep. Holly's
birthday is tomorrow. She was probably born wide awake as she gets up
before the sun. Weird. How did we ever meet? Anyways, I may look like
a monkey but I don't smell like one too. Pshaw, those kids today I
tell you.

Indy Review

So I saw Indiana Jones last night. I would give it 3 out of 5 stars.
It was a good movie, but not a blockbuster like the other 3. I wasn't
able to follow some of the plot, and side plots were never completed,
like did the kid go back to school? The acting was worse and it might
have something to do with the cheesy dialog. I did like the near
misses that all indy movies have. I liked the alien plot and the
effects overall. I liked the nuke scene, although I doubt he would
have survived it. It was good, but not great.

Status

Quick status to all my friends and family. This last weekend we saw
Narnia and I thought it was good and even better than the first one.
Most of the rest of the weekend we rested. On Sunday instead of
feeding the homeless we are starting a new thing of giving them
clothes so if anyone has any spare clothes feel free to give to me to
hand out to the homeless. In Holly news she is staying at her school
for next year and will be finishing up on her master's. Goo Holly. In
RideSearch news on Sunday an article by US news and World Report that
mentioned the site hit the front page of Yahoo causing a record 1600
visitors and 350 new memberships in one day. That was cool. We are
continuing to get good press. I went on my 12th interview for the
Radio on Monday at 2AM. It was rather interesting as I am now being
tapped to talk about the global oil economy and why gas prices are so
high. That interview lasted an hour. I am now confident that I can
talk for more than 2 hours on the subject without reusing any topics.
I have a potential national interview and another national press
release coming up. Oh I have seen the centerfold for the June edition
of women's health and my site is in it. I am probably the most
successful nonmoneymaking business you have ever heard of. In other
news I will be 33 this weekend and need to jam out on guitar so I will
be taking my guitar to see a friends band play on Friday and will get
up on stage and shred. That should be fun, provided I remember how to
play. What is up with ya'll?

Batteries need rech...

So Holly and I are glad it is a 3 day weekend. We plan to rest. Both
of us have been going at 100mph ever since the start of this year. It
can be exhausting. We need to recharge our batteries before the next
wave of stuff. We didn't even plan a birthday event this year. It
seems to be too much work to make your own party. Maybe we should go
find a pool and float in it and talk about the good ole days whilst
sipping on lemonade. I don't know though we will probably do something
a little more exciting. Anyways, everyone have a good weeks and be safe.

Desparate Carpoolers

It was daylight at 7:15pm yesterday. My lovely wife had gone to Bally
total fitness to work out with her personal trainer. Things were
looking up for both of us as she decided to keep teaching next year
and I decided to keep my day job for another year. But disaster was
looming. Apparently a young gang of hoodlems decided to carpool, a
desparate carpool. According to police their car was registered to a
15 year old. Their carpool was running out of gas. They needed money
and decided that real work was for the birds. So they staked out the
parking lot of the gym. They noticed my wife go in to the gym and
leave her purse in the back seat. So in broad daylight they smashed my
new nissan altima back passenger window and ran off with the purse.
Another one of their gang did the same to someone else's car. Holly
was notified and the police dusted for prints. The theives are now on
the run. Apparently they used one of the cards to buy gas at a 7-11.
So if anyone sees a group of teenage guys, desparate carpoolers,
carrying around ginormous purses and a cell phone that dies every 15
minutes let us know, we want pictures. If they would have just went to
RideSearch.com they would have saved money on gas and all this
would have been avoided. Makes me think that as gas prices get
higher and higher there will be more crime. We have all got to ride
together to prevent this. If we can lower our demand, we can
lower prices and if we lower prices we can lower crime.
Who's with me?

Hot

Well, it is almost up to 100 here in Texas. It is only May. I predict
this will be one of the hottest summers on record. Speaking of hot, I
am a little mad at the Texas teaching system. Apparently they think
that a 40 question test that students take decides if the teacher is a
good one or not. Shame shame. Holly is upset about it and so am I.
Especially since her students are Mexican and are learning English as
a second language. Anyways, Holly is the best with kids and I think
she awesome. That and the weather make me hot.

Wedding Hopper

This weekend was a wedding weekend. It was an interesting one where
the bride jumped up and down before the you may now kiss the bride
part was said. It was cute. Mr. T got up and played Amazing Love for
the couple with the crowd joining in. It was good. Most of my weekend
was spent at the wedding. This next weekend should be good with a
Monday holiday. Woot. In other news if you go to yahoo and click on
finance there is an article called 8 new ways to save gas and
RideSearch is listed in it. I have already had 100 people visit the
site from that link today. I tell you I am in the perfect storm.

It's Wedding Season Again!

Ah, it's wedding season. I am a groomsman in a wedding this weekend.
So I have a rehersal dinner and reception dinner to prepare for. Plus
the tux and stuff to prepare for. After going to so many weddings you
start to be a conisuir of fine wedding cake. It is going to be fun. In
other news I apparently have graduated from AM radio to FM radio and
have 2 morning show interviews next week. I had one yesterday from a
shock jock. I don't know how I did cause he was cussing at me the
whole time. Talk about weird. I shall mark that as the weirdest
interview I have ever had and will move on. Anyways, life is good, and
even better when you help others. I must remember these exciting
times. How are my readers doing?

Summertime

Ah summertime is starting. This summer there are many movies coming
out that should be good. Indiana Jones is at the top of the list. Then
the Hulk, Batman, Narnia, Iron Man, Eyebot, and I am sure there are
others. Movie tickets are at $10 now. I remember when it was $3.25 for
the longest time. Popcorn is getting up there too. Now it is quite
easy for Holly and I to spend $30 going to the movies. I foresee this
summer being bad financially for the theaters, with high prices and
high gas prices causing people to stay home and rent movies using
Blockbuster instead of their local theater. And I am not saying this
because Blockbuster is promoting my site internally...

Shocking Experience this Weekend

This weekend Holly and I visited mom for mothers day. I think she is
doing well, she just needs to leave her house sometimes. I got in the
house and it was 84 degrees. Aparently the air conditioner broke. The
outside fan quit working. So I went out to check it and when I touched
it a shot of electricity went from my head to my feet. I am sure my
hair was sticking up. I quickly let go but it could've been much
worse. Needless to say she is now getting it fixed. So that was my
shocking experience for the weekend ... How was yours?

Ah RideSearch

Due to popular demand next week I will move all my RS talk over to the
official blog of RideSearch at http://ridesearch.blogspot.com
This has been an interesting month. I can see how the site is
affecting the nation and it is pretty cool. We already had a winner
from the carpool contest. Some people in Seattle found each other and
carpool using the site. Then someone in Detroit has taken up a
grassroots movement to promote the site and will appear in their local
paper. Then someone in Ohio wants to show the calculator to his
college students and talk about how gas affects mileage. Then a
company in Massachusets has promoted the site among its employees. The
recent article in Florida has spawned some members from there as
yesterday was a top day for people signing up. It feels pretty cool to
know that something that you do can affect the nation in different
ways. It seems like when I think I have reached as far as I can get
then something else happens. Anyways, my commercial is airing right
now. I actually have low expectations for this one. Who watches paid
programming at 12:30 in the afternoon anyways? The important thing is
I have rights to the video and will be posting it to the main site.
More work to do now. Always remember,"keep moving forward."

Taxing Test

I think today I shall talk about my lovely wife Holly. She has been
encouraging me from the start. She is as busy as I am. First she is
getting her master's degree so she is writing papers and studying for
tests. Then her teaching job gets really hectic this time of year. She
basically spends a majority of her time all year round teaching her
5th graders how to take one taks test for science. This test
determines her salary and how much money her school gets for the year.
Now my Republican mind is: sounds good. But when you get to the
details you realize how wrong it is. This test is 40 multiple choice
questions. That is so unfair. If it was 500 questions I might say,
yeah that may be an accurate representation of what the kids have
learned. Instead our teachers and children's futures are based off of
only 40 questions. I also don't think teachers should be judged based
on one test. How about the actual grades the kids get? Anyways Holly
is a great teacher, one of the best. Yet the system doesn't make her
feel that way. Holly is awesome...<smooch>

It's a good obsession

Well, things are well for RideSearch. I feel sometimes like I am
sitting on a gold mine, I just have to figure out how to get to it.
Traffic is increasing to the site. I got interviewed for the Tampa
tribune yesterday, a major corporation is going to start promoting it,
the nationwide commercial is going to air soon, the forums will be
coming soon, and all for a free site. In the brick and mortar world I
would be called crazy, but on the Internet I can see that it is a big
popularity contest and in just 4 months I have become second runner
up. Just wait and see what the future entails... I am obsessed... I
think I'll go back to being obsessed about guitar and be rock star
instead...
