Life
Well, where to begin. This week has seen some highs and lows. I have
been obsessed about RideSearch to the detriment of my health. Let me
start at the beginning. This week I knew I had set a deadline. June
26th I would release 2 websites, RideSearch 2.0 and RideSearch.biz.
What most people don't know is that I did it in 2 months of spare
time. It is a feat of development by any stretch of the imagination.
Most data driven sites take 6 months to a year to develop with a team
of people. The first RideSearch took 2 years of spare time. To do 2
websites in 2 months is unheard of. My plan was this, I had a ribbon
cutting ceremony at the Carrollton Chamber of Commerce. I invited the
press and read my press release. Fox 4 news showed up and filmed. I
also was on the WBAP news during the day. The problem was, I was
physically and mentally exhausted. I had gotten 4 hours sleep in a 48
hour period. I didn't know what I was saying half of the time. After
the conference was over someone asked how much it cost. Apparently I
never mentioned it was free. I did in the press release though. I then
went to the funeral that afternoon and was an impromptu pall bearer.
It was sad. I was trying my hardest to stay awake the whole day. I had
way too many diet cokes and was in a panic attack kind of state,
nerves plus exhaustion. I went to bed at 7pm and woke up this morning
at 7:30 and am still tired. In other news it looks like funding at my
job has been cut at the end of July. They want to keep me as a support
guy, but I don't know if I want to do that. Anyone know of any good
Venture Capital firms? The time is now. It is almost as if one door is
closing another one is opening.
