So people are wondering.. Did Holly make the cut? Does she still have a job. The answer is Yes! I knew she didn't have much to worry about. She has 6 years of teaching experience under her belt and is head of the science department at her school. The paper said math, science, and bilingual teachers are too valuable to be cut. Really all teachers are too valuable. Her school was apparently saved from all cuts. Probably because it is one of the most impoverished schools there. The problem goes all the way back to the weirdness that is DISD. It is a marriage of the government and private sectors and it ends up making everything bad although DISD salaries are one of the highest in the state. It is interesting how everyone knows about this and is concerned. Like when I got furloughed off of Lockheed Martin no one called or anything, people just don't know. But this DISD fiasco, everyone knows, and luckily everyone prays - thanks!
