April Expos bring May $$$

So I am getting excited about the April Expos. It is weird to think
about all of the time and money that has gone into April:
1. 50,000 Promo Cards
2. 1,000 t-shirts
3. 2 podiums
4. 6 pocketpc for quick registration
5. 1 8x8 foot backdrop with 2 signs
6. A full page Ad in the Green Apple concert guide to 100,000 people
7. A half page ad in a publicity report that gets sent to radio and tv
stations
8. A 2 minute spot on the infomercial Living in Style to be aired on
Sunday April 20th on cable
9. Plane tickets, lodging in LA for the green apple festival
10. Tickets to Hollywood studios VIP tour to try to get on TV
11. The press release for iPhone app

So there is so much to do and so little time. I have poured my life
savings into this with wisdom, hope and dreams. Even if nothing
happens I will have a lifetime of experiences that I will always
remember. Really I just want a lot of people to sign up and to
carpool. Is that too much to ask? Naaah. And with free t-shirts to the
first 500 people to sign up it should be real easy ;-)

Boxing Matches Fishing

So I now have approximately 24 boxes sitting in my dining and living
room at home. 14 of them contain t-shirts and 10 of them contain
promotional cards. That's 1000 t-shirts that weigh 450 pounds and
50,000 cards(printed on recycled paper). I am preparing big time for
the Plano Green Expo and the Green Apple concert on Earth Day. I will
be giving away the t-shirts to people who sign up on the spot. I am
excited! I am also now walking. I am going around neoghborhoods and am
putting the cards on peoples doors. I am gettings exercise and am
working at the same time. Today I went to lunch at Subway and put a
card in the line and sat and watched as people picked it up and read
it. I kind of felt like I was fishing. Weird. I wonder if I caught
anything?

Weak End

So this weekend Holly and I decided to test out thing that married
people do on weekends - nothing. It seems like we always at least went
out to eat on Friday and Saturday night. This time we stayed home and
grilled. It was good. We also went to Whole Foods Market and I got the
prime Ribeye. That's top of the line meat. It's the kind 3 Forks and
Silver Fox uses. We stayed at home and watched TV. I'm getting into
the John Adams series on HBO. We also did take Holly's mom out to
Rafain's, the best restaurant in the world, for Easter Brunch. The
front lady is now calling me by my first name whenever I come in. I
guess I go there too much. I am still dieting too. I did start the new
Alli low fat pill. We'll see what becomes of that. Also props go out
to Peetey and Mr C who are now older. I am still young and virile at
32. They are 33. Talk about old... How was your weekend?

Ra Ra Ra

So what have I been up to? Well about 6'0 260lbs. Seriously I am now
on the health kick bandwagon again. I gained like 25lbs since I've
been married. I guess I took the advice "keep on dating" a little too
much and still eat out alot. I can see though that this is my last
chance to really lose some weight or face some serious health
conequences like diabetes which I don't want. So I found this cool
iPhone program that counts calories and excersize and I am committed
to 30 minutes of exercise 5 times a week. I also joined the presidents
challenge to keep me accountable. We shall see. Maybe I should get
Richard Simmons to motivate me. I can picture it now "go Brian! You
can do it! Yeah ra ra ra" well maybe not...

Update

So last week was Holly's spring break. Growing up with a teacher I
knew that spring break was the vacation time for all students and
teachers. This break me, Holly and yes, mom, flew to Minnesota to
visit with my sister and her husband. They are doing well. They were a
little sick when we got there so we spent most of the break chilling
at their house and hanging out. Memorable moments include: Holly and I
slept in a downstairs bedroom on an air mattress. Going to see some
movie about kids and goblins. Going bowling with Melinda. Going to the
Mall of America with everyone including mom in an electric cart. There
is a Lego shop and an actual theme park in the mall. There were no
problems on either flight. When we got back Holly and I went to the
Fort Worth Zoo and took the pictures below. We thought we saw monkeys
wrestling but they weren't doing that... Anyway that was my spring
break and now I am back at work. Woo hoo.

Checking in

Just checking in with my blog ;-) Life is good. I am trying to get on Oprah and other shows. I think by promoting the site more people will join. Anyways, someone wanted to know what shisking was.. Well, it is my friends codeword for throwing up. I don't really like it at all so in high school we all sat down and made up different funny terms for it. Danny Divitoing, Ralph Machoing, George Clooning are some runners up. Can you remember some more?

Weekend Update

So the past week was very busy. I joined the chamber of commerce a
couple of weeks ago and last week went to their annual mayors
luncheon. I talked to the mayors of Carrollton and Farmer's Branch and
gave them some RideSearch business cards. I think if I could get
RideSearch to be the official carpool site of metropolitan areas I
would have a foothold in the carpool market. I also sat next to the
chairman of the board of DART and talked about how much better things
could be if Dallas had an official carpool website. Then after the
lunch I got up in front of the chamber and gave an elevator speech
about RideSearch for businesses. It was fun. I guess I am getting
better at public speaking since I've been doing sermons once a month.
Anyway, RideSearch is taking off. I sent a newsletter out to the
members detailing my other activities. This weekend we went and saw
"semi-pro". I'd give it 2 out of 5 because of a shisking scene. Sunday
it rained at the homeless and was 70. Yesterday we had our one day a
year snowfall. It got to 30 and I had to light a fire. Anyways, my
real work is slowing down so I should be able to post more. How was
your weekend?
