The Computer in my Pocket
On Friday we hung around the house. Apparently there is a Cowboy Chicken 15 minutes away in Frisco so I went there and got take out. They have alot of food for a reasonable price. When you go in to sit down they have neverending entrees. Meaning if you order the chicken you can eat until you are full. That is why Texas has one of the highest obesity rates. Anyways, it was good. So that evening I prepared for my first dip in our pool and hot tub. I turned on the heat and jets and went to pick up the chicken.
So after I eat I get my swimsuit on and towel and go out to the hot tub. Since it is 70 degrees out right now it is perfect weather for it all. As I approach the hot tub I notice something - there is no water in it. Ack. Apparently the pool people must have changed some kind of button or something. When I turned on the jets it drained the hot tub. So it was completely drained. When I turned the jets off it started to fill up again. I am going to get my pool service to fix that when they come back. Saturday the FIOS people came and installed another jack in the guest bedroom. I also worked on setting up more home automation features. My home now speaks to me. Of course it is only in the living room. Holly's mom came and babysat for Brennon and we went and saw "How to train your dragon" in 3D. It was pretty good. I wouldn't mind seeing it again. I was a little disappointed simply because I had raised expectations from the previews. Otherwise it was a fun little movie.
Sunday we went to church but came in late so we just hung around the kids playground with Brennon watching it on TV. that afternoon we went to visit mom. Her place has a church service at 2PM. That is the perfect time. I am thinking I might just do that every week and not have to get the caravan ready every Sunday morning. Although it is kind of weird being the only person under 65 there. Most of them are women too. Apparently males die earlier than females. I think it has something to do with the old style culture where men did more physical labor. Mom saw Brennon and all of the ladies commented how he has a cute smile. I know, he is already admired by all. We got him a walker and the picture on the box cover looks like him. I wonder if he could be a child superstar ;-)
Today was supposed to be the day when I got to get a new iPhone at the early discount. But it was not to be. When I went to AT&T's site it said I could upgrade on 4/27 when last week it said I could upgrade on 3/27. Ack. Something must have happened. The thing is I realize that I have almost the iPhone right now. I have an iTouch which has all my apps. It just doesn't have always on Internet. So I thought to myself what if I kept the iTouch with me and got a different phone? One that has tethering - sharing of its internet connections then I could have something new and still have access to all my apps. So I have officially jumped ship. It was rather easy and I ended up ordering it off of Amazon.com. I am now the proud owner of the world's biggest smart phone - The HTC HD2. It is a Windows Mobile 6.5 phone. I had to jump to T-Mobile to get it, which gave me the phone for almost nothing. That phone has an HD screen that is 4.3 inches. It can turn into an internet wifi spot for connecting to my iTouch. It has GPS, 5 MG Video Camera, SD Card Storage up to 32 gig, multi-tasking, multi-touch screen, flash support in the browser, and App store, compatible with older pocketpc games, office and is extremely fast. It is a computer in my pocket. That is all I ever wanted. Now, as far as making calls, we'll find out when it gets here.
