Salty McWally

So our pool woes continue. After all this the pool guy says the previous owner didn't clean his salt cells and we need a new one because our existing one has limescale deposits that can't be removed. It will cost around $600 - 1000. I don't think the warranty covers this. In the meantime I am learning that they have been putting chlorine in the skimmers to compensate. I am also learning all of the different pieces of the pool pump. At least they cleaned our filter. The valves are another problem. Whenever I turn on the spa and then turn it off the spa still drains. I don't know how many people have looked at it. I am figuring out all the manual processes to get it to work without the electronic valves. Eventually I will know enough to do it all myself, maybe. I just hope I don't break anything.

Yes, I knew what I was getting into when I became a pool owner. Last night as I had a soak in the hot tub I realized it was worth it, even the salt water cell. The salt water is very smooth, like you are swimming in Fiji Water. It is so different than a regular chlorinated pool where the smell and sting of the water can take the fun out of it. Saltwater is very oceanic too. The closer I can get to mimicing Hawaii at my house the better it will be. I turned on the ocean sounds throughout the house and then decided to turn on some waves hitting rocks on my iTouch. As I positioned it in the bedroom I realized I was creating a virtual sound environment. It really felt like I was sleeping on the beach. Of course, without the sand. I think next I will play some seagulls and boat whistles on my phone speakers and position it farther away. All I need now is a projector of HD oceans on all of the walls and a sky projector on the ceiling and I will have a created a virtual reality seascape. Although, if I tried to jump into the ocean I'd be hitting a wall.
