Eat whatever you want! Not.
So what are my thoughts? Well, I seriously need to do something about my waking up. Since Holly is now going to school early I am left to fend for myself and my bed is way too comfortable. Although I have to admit getting extra sleep is nice for me but bad for my employer. I think part of it is I need to go to bed earlier. The other part is probably my sedentary lifestyle. Now I know I have gained 4 pounds in the past couple of weeks, so according to my moderation diet I need to really fast to get back to where I was. If I nip it in the bud I can prevent a "fat bloom" as I call it. The question is, how to get back to stasis. I have weighed the same plus or minus a pound for almost a year now. That in my mind is success.
Exercise, though, can be detrimental to your health. When you have a system that is in stasis you are fine because it is not changing or is changing very slowly. When you cause it to be off, like through exercise, where your body goes through tons of chemical and cardio vascular changes you introduce a variable of change into the system. In the past I have proved that whenever there is a big change such as diet and exercise, primarily exercise, there is a defense mechanism that the body goes through. Sure you can lose weight and feel healthy when you are exercising, but the second you slow down the snapback occurs and you gain it all back. That is why people who slow down end up gaining it back plus some. The goal is to only do things that you will do forever and I have yet to figure out what it is.
Then you have your base eating tendencies. The reason why I was able to maintain it for so long was because I recognized that the weight I was at was the perfect weight for my eating habits. If I want to have a pizza and burgers every week I have to be able to use that amount of calories during the week. I have to diet at lunch to eat whatever I want at dinner. Being fat enables me to do so, as long as I don't overindulge. The bigger you are the more calories you require to maintain your figure. So the bigger you are the more you can eat and stay the same weight. At some point you get to be happy with your diet and happy with your weight, if you do not think in an esoteric sense but a calorie consumption sense. Honestly I could say that I can eat pizza and burgers every week and not gain weight. That is awesome. I was at the perfect weight. But now something has happened. I think maybe it is age but I now need to adjust things more. I guess I have discovered that there is no perfect stasis. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Time to join the Y.
